itSMF USA Student Case Competition Presented by BMC Software Winners Announced!
The annual itSMF USA Student Case Competition brings together graduate-level students with an interest in Service Management from universities across the country. They compete by developing a solution to a case study which is written specifically for this event.
We were very fortunate again this year to have BMC Software as a sponsor, who continues to demonstrate their commitment to the development and capabilities of the next generation of service management professionals.
On Sunday, October 19, as the students awaited the results to be announced, an ITSM simulation was conducted with the students. Doug Tedder, of Tedder Consulting, led the Grab @ Pizza (add registered mark) simulation, allowing these students to experience key ITIL processes first-hand.
This year, 6 schools participated in the competition:
The competition was held on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the National Harbor Gaylord Hotel & Resort in Washington, DC., just prior to the Fusion14 Conference.
The students presented their solutions to the case study to a panel of judges made up of industry experts:
The case study was based on a fictional government agency with a service management challenge, in honor of the location of this years' Fusion conference being held in our nation's capital. All teams impressed the judges with their presentation skills, level of thought and maturity.
A copy of the case study as well as the presentations submitted can be found here.
Congratulations to this years' award recipients!

Second place ($3000) - Texas A&M University
