Dinner Meeting Topic Why is ITSM critical to adoption of DevOps? Join us to discuss this question as well as other ITSM topics facing the IT industry in 2018 including best practices integration between ITSM and Day 0 automation with current state of IT service management.  Focusing on a case study about a ServiceNow evolution for a major managed services provider, we will follow the two-year journey that began with replacement of salesforce.com by ServiceNow. Working with the customer to develop a comprehensive ITSM and support strategy, the Zefflin team architected a two-year road map starting with incident management, followed by service request, self-service portal, intelligent monitoring integration and automation of several resource-intensive manual processes via orchestration.  The project culminated in the development and roll out of a custom mobile app to enhance the customer experience and dramatically increase speed of service delivery and productivity.  The resulting processes and systems enabled this managed service provider to double their customer base without doubling support staff.

 

Our Speaker

Sam Melehy is a technology and professional services entrepreneur with 30 years of experience delivering technology solutions to IT organizations of the Global 5000. He is currently CEO of Zefflin, a software and consulting firm focused on Data Center Automation, Cloud Management and ITSM.  Before starting Zefflin, Sam was COO and equity partner of Pepperweed Consulting, one of the largest HP software integrators in the U.S.  Sam has over 15 years’ experience in ITSM, working with ServiceNow and previously at Peregrine Systems, where he ran the worldwide Professional Services organization and worked with ServiceNow founder Fred Luddy.  Utilizing domain expertise in Cloud Computing, IT Service Management, IT Operations, Automation, Application Lifecycle Management, Big Data/Analytics and Monitoring, Sam has held domestic and international executive and entrepreneurial positions running consulting businesses from startup to $100M.  Sam holds a Master's degree in Robotics and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.
